The first lager from our Schanzenhofen in St. Pauli. Lager, actually invented in Austria, has been brewed for over 150 years in Hamburg. We thought if someone is brewing on Lagerstrasse, they should also have a decent lager from the get-go. No sooner said than done.
Hoppy heaviness, light fruit notes and a fine wort well chilled from keg and bottle. And it tastes simply more than deliciously different: slightly of lime, black tea, ginger with a delicate floridity. The fresh, discreet but strong aroma of a bottom-fermented classic is prepared in our very special cellar-based hopping.
The bronze colored Ratsherrn Lager is excellent with a variety of dishes, such as light salads, crisp and crunchy breads, rustic sausages and mildly spicy cheeses. For dessert, a small selection of pastries is delicious company for a lager.
